Is Twitter a victim of its own success? It seems to be floundering in a sea of support requests that it simply doesn't have the resources to handle. The website says it will take five to seven working days to deal with queries. Well I've been waiting 13 days already. The problem? Twitter says my mobile phone number has already been taken. But how? I've gone through their suggested remedies - looking for duplicate accounts, re-activating dormant accounts etc. - but the problem persists. As Twitter is fundamentally a text-orientated service this is a big problem. And I can't be the only one. Twitter better get its act together soon or the goodwill and positive PR it has rapidly and impressively generated could quickly evaporate following a stack of 'poor customer service' stories.
