It still amazes me how blase some people still are about computer security, especially considering how widespread 'always on' broadband connections are. Leaving your computer unprotected against viruses, Trojans and spyware is like leaving the keys in your car and expecting no-one to steal it. There's so much 'malware' out there that if you left an unprotected computer online for less than a minute it would probably get infected. In my feature 'Revealed: the fraud threat inside your PC' on Sky Money, I look at some of the latest scary developments in the field of online security. Of course, firewall and antivirus companies love to exaggerate, but the truth is that the more we become connected, the greater the dangers become. Data is the new currency. Loss of data can terminate businesses. So protect your computers and protect your data!
